The Branch | West Point, Maine | Click for larger view
After a week that featured rain, fog and temperatures in the 40′s, we woke up this morning to blue skies and bright sunshine. Soon after waking up, I drove down the peninsula to West Point. Fog was lifting and temperatures were warming.
The area featured in the photo is known as The Branch which is off Alliquippa Road. It is a favorite bird watching spot for Sharon and I. Lobster boats are usually moored here, but this morning, only a few where idle as the rest where out to sea.
Off the beaten path, the area is an excellent place to read a book, have a picnic lunch or just to sit back and take in the spectacular view.

Beautiful, serene scene. Maine is one of only 3 states east of the Mississippi that I haven’t been to. I hope to visit there someday.

Put me out there and I would stay all day. Nothing better than sitting beside the water and watching the boats. Unless your on the boat!!! What a beautiful quiet looking place. I have always wanted to visit Maine. Maybe someday! Thanks for sharing and have a great day!
